Cast-iron sauna stove · SM Global

Storm — cast iron for long, gentle heat

Storm is a cast-iron wood-burning sauna stove for steam rooms of 6 to 18 m³: a thick cast-iron firebox, a large stone mass and a glass door. We assemble and finish every stove at our factory in Riga. SM Global is one of the few manufacturers of cast-iron sauna stoves in Europe.

Why cast iron

Cast iron stores heat and copes with high temperatures

A cast-iron firebox heats up and cools down more slowly than a steel one. That means more even heat in the steam room and a stove that lasts, even with intensive use.

Firebox

Thick cast-iron build

Cast iron withstands high temperatures without warping, so the stove performs consistently year after year.

Stones

100–140 kg of stones

A large stone mass stores heat — the steam is soft and the sauna stays warm for longer.

Fire

Glass door

Watch the flames through the glass; decorative details in stainless steel.

Chimney

Everything from one maker

Storm connects to a 115 mm flue that we make ourselves — you can buy the stove and chimney together.

How to choose

Three steps to the right stove

1

Work out the volume

Length × width × height. Add about 1–1.5 m³ for every m² of uninsulated surface (glass, stone).

2

Pick the model

Up to 12 m³ — Storm 12; 10 to 18 m³ — Storm 18. If you are at the limit or the room has a glass wall, take the larger one.

3

Connect the chimney

Storm connects to a 115 mm flue: single-wall AISI 304 pipe above the stove, insulated chimney through the ceiling. We make all of it.

How is a cast-iron stove different from a steel one?

Cast iron stores more heat, releases it more evenly and copes better with long periods of high heat. A steel stove heats up faster and is lighter and cheaper.

Which chimney does the Storm need?

115 mm diameter. Above the stove a single-wall AISI 304 stainless pipe; through the ceiling and roof an insulated chimney with vermiculite.

How does delivery work?
